Can’t find your treadmill when scanning?

Use this page if Kinni cannot see your treadmill during a scan, if the treadmill appears inconsistently, or if you are not sure whether the machine is discoverable.

If Kinni cannot find your treadmill, the problem is usually one of three things: the treadmill is not advertising a supported treadmill service, another device or app is already connected, or Kinni does not have the permissions it needs to scan.

You might notice one or more of these:

  • the scan never shows your treadmill
  • the treadmill appears once, then disappears
  • Kinni says it found a treadmill but you are not sure which row is yours
  • another app finds the treadmill but Kinni does not
  • Bluetooth or permission prompts appear instead of treadmill results
  • Kinni keeps trying to reconnect to a previous treadmill

Kinni does not list every nearby Bluetooth device. It scans for supported treadmill services, including FTMS / Fitness Machine treadmills and supported FitShow-style treadmill services. A treadmill that only advertises Bluetooth audio, a generic pairing mode, or a brand-only app connection may not appear.

  1. Make sure you are safely off the treadmill.
  2. Turn Bluetooth on.
  3. Grant Kinni Bluetooth and location permissions if prompted.
  4. Keep Kinni in the foreground while scanning.
  5. Stop any other app, phone, tablet, or watch that may already be connected to the treadmill.
  6. Put the treadmill into its Bluetooth or app-pairing mode if the treadmill requires one.
  7. Open Go Run → Run devices → Treadmill → Scan & connect.
  8. Tap Scan and wait for the scan to finish.
  9. If nothing appears, stop and start a fresh scan after changing the treadmill pairing state.

If Kinni is reconnecting to a previous treadmill

Section titled “If Kinni is reconnecting to a previous treadmill”

Tap the treadmill card to open Scan & connect, then scan for the machine you want to use now. If the old treadmill is still connected, disconnect it first.

If it still does not work, include your treadmill brand and model, phone model and OS, Kinni app version, what appears in the scan list, and whether any other app or device is currently connected.
