how to
Use the FTMS Checker
Use this guide when a connected FTMS treadmill needs diagnostic checks for data, control, speed, incline, or compatibility issues.
The FTMS Checker is Kinni’s diagnostic tool for a connected FTMS treadmill. It checks the treadmill’s Bluetooth FTMS surface and produces a shareable report for support.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Only run the FTMS Checker while you are off the treadmill and the area around the treadmill is clear. The checker can move the belt and change incline.
You need:
- a connected FTMS treadmill
- Bluetooth enabled
- the treadmill awake and ready
- the emergency stop or safety key within reach
What the checker tests
Section titled “What the checker tests”The checker can inspect FTMS communication such as:
- whether key FTMS characteristics are present
- treadmill data notifications
- speed and incline range information
- supported control-point communication
- treadmill status and training status messages
- command timing and selected active probes
What the report means
Section titled “What the report means”The report reflects diagnostic probes only. Recorded runs still use Kinni’s normal treadmill workflow and wait for treadmill telemetry to confirm motion before recording.
If support asks for a report, use the checker summary’s share option and include your treadmill brand/model, phone model, OS, and Kinni app version.
