how to
Manage speed range
Use this guide when you want to set a fallback treadmill max speed in Kinni and understand how a connected treadmill can override it.
Manage speed range lets you set the maximum treadmill speed Kinni should use when you are not currently connected to a Bluetooth treadmill. The minimum stays fixed at 0, so this setting is only about the maximum end of the range.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Open Settings → Treadmill speed → Manage speed range.
Kinni shows the current range as 0 → max, then lets you adjust only the maximum speed value.
What the setting affects
Section titled “What the setting affects”Use Manage speed range when you want Kinni to remember a sensible treadmill max speed for:
- workout-builder speed limits
- dynamic-workout speed validation
- speed-related run settings when no treadmill is connected
This configured max is the fallback value Kinni uses when it does not have a live treadmill capability to read from.
Bluetooth override behaviour
Section titled “Bluetooth override behaviour”If you connect a compatible Bluetooth treadmill, the treadmill’s live reported max speed takes priority over the value you configured in settings.
Kinni shows this as a Bluetooth override state so you can see that:
- your configured max speed is still saved
- the connected treadmill is currently using its own reported max speed
- workout and speed controls follow the connected treadmill while that treadmill remains connected
When the treadmill disconnects, Kinni falls back to the configured speed range again.
How to set the range
Section titled “How to set the range”- Open Manage speed range.
- Adjust the maximum speed value.
- Save the change.
- Reconnect a treadmill later if you want Kinni to use the treadmill’s live capability instead.
When to change it
Section titled “When to change it”Change the configured max speed when:
- you normally run without a connected treadmill but still want realistic workout speed limits
- your saved workouts or dynamic speeds should reflect a known treadmill capability
- support asks you to confirm the fallback max speed Kinni is using
