how to

Create a dynamic workout

Use dynamic workouts when you want one workout structure to scale with your training goals instead of using fixed split values.

Dynamic workouts are for sessions that should flex with your training. Build the structure once, then let Kinni calculate suitable targets from your current goal or target speed when you run it.

This is useful for workouts that should feel right at different fitness levels. Instead of hard-coding every speed, incline, or target value, you can create a reusable session that adapts when your goal changes.

A dynamic workout is different from a standard workout. Standard workouts keep the fixed values you entered for each split. Dynamic workouts can use goal-aware values, so the same workout can stay relevant as your training changes.

Prefer exact values every time? Use Create a workout when you want fixed split targets that do not adapt to your current goal.

  • Set a current goal if the workout depends on goal-based pacing.
  • Decide which parts of the workout should adapt and which should stay simple.
  • Keep the first version conservative so you can test it safely.
  1. Open Workouts → My workouts.
  2. Tap plus and choose Create a dynamic workout.
  3. Add a short title and useful description.
  4. Add blocks and splits for the workout structure.
  5. Set the dynamic speed or incline behaviour for each split.
  6. Review the chart and estimated metrics.
  7. Add voice prompts only where they help during the run.
  8. Save the workout.
  • Run the workout yourself from My workouts.
  • Set or update your goal if Kinni needs one before running it.
  • Edit the workout if the dynamic targets feel too easy, too hard, or unclear.
  • Share it to the Workout Library when it is ready for other Kinni users.

Kinni may ask you to set a goal before running a dynamic workout. Once the goal is usable, Kinni can turn the dynamic structure into runnable targets for the session.
