Use blocks and splits to turn a workout idea into a clear run sequence.

Blocks and splits are how you turn a training idea into something Kinni can guide. Use blocks for the big parts of the workout, then add splits for the exact steps you want to run.

This keeps even complex workouts readable. A warm-up, main set, recovery, and cool-down can each have their own structure, targets, repeats, and short cues.

A block is a section of the workout, such as warm-up, main set, recovery, or cool-down. Blocks keep long workouts easier to read.

A split is an individual step inside a block. A split can define targets such as speed, incline, distance, duration, or elevation, depending on the workout type.

  • Use a standard workout when the split values should stay fixed every time.
  • Use a dynamic workout when the workout should adapt from a goal or target speed.
  • Add a split when the next step needs a different target.
  • Delete a split when it no longer belongs in the workout.
  • Reorder blocks or splits to match the run sequence.
  • Repeat a block when the same pattern should happen more than once.
  • Rename blocks so they make sense during setup and review.
