how to
Use the running calculator
Enter a target distance and time to see pace, speed, effort guidance, predictions, and set a goal for Kinni.
The Running calculator turns a target distance and time into useful Kinni values. Use it when you want to calculate pace, treadmill speed, effort ranges, race predictions, or create a goal.
- Open Running calculator.
- Choose a Target distance.
- Enter the Target time.
- Check the calculated pace and speed.
- Review effort ranges such as Easy, Steady, Threshold, Target, and Hard.
- Open predictions if you want estimated times for other distances.
- Use Set Goal when you want this target to become a Kinni goal.
Effort
Section titled “Effort”The Effort tab gives training suggestions based on the target distance and time you entered. It keeps your target in view, then shows related paces and treadmill speeds for different effort levels.
The table includes:
- Easy: a slower pace and speed for easier running around the target.
- Steady: a controlled pace between easy running and threshold work.
- Threshold: a stronger pace close to your target effort.
- Target: the exact pace and speed calculated from your selected distance and time. Kinni highlights this row.
- Hard: a faster pace and speed above the target.
Each row shows the pace per selected distance unit and the matching treadmill speed in your selected unit system.
Prediction
Section titled “Prediction”The Prediction tab estimates what your entered target could mean for other race distances. Kinni uses your selected target as the reference point, then lists predicted times for distances such as 1K, 1500m, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and marathon.
The distance you selected is highlighted in the table, so you can compare the original target with the predicted times for shorter or longer distances.
Predictions are estimates. Use them to compare targets or sanity-check a goal before saving it, not as a guarantee of race performance.
The calculator follows your selected unit preference. Use the unit control on the screen if the displayed pace or speed does not match the units you expect.
