how to

Measure treadmill incline with Inclinometer

Use this guide when you need to measure treadmill incline with your phone before checking or setting an incline range.

Kinni includes an Inclinometer that uses your phone’s accelerometer to measure relative treadmill incline. This is useful when you want to compare the physical deck angle with the treadmill display or the incline range you plan to use in Kinni.

Open Settings → Treadmill incline → Inclinometer.

On supported phones, Kinni shows a large live incline percentage. If your device does not have an accelerometer, Kinni shows an unavailable message instead.

  1. Stop the treadmill and make sure you are off the belt.
  2. Place the phone securely on the treadmill deck.
  3. Open Inclinometer.
  4. Read the displayed incline percentage.
  5. Compare it with the treadmill console value or the range you plan to set in Kinni.

Use the Inclinometer when:

  • you are setting up Manage incline range
  • the treadmill display and Kinni expectations do not match
  • support asks for measured incline evidence
