Update profile settings

Use this guide when you need to update the account details shown in your Kinni profile.

Your Kinni profile is the account area inside the mobile app. It shows your avatar, email-address and username controls, Kinni Cloud sync entry point, subscription entry point, beta access, connected apps and devices, sign-out, Account Switcher when multiple accounts are stored, and the account-deletion link.

  • Open Kinni while you have an Internet connection.
  • Sign in with the account you want to update.
  • If your profile shows cached data while offline, reconnect before changing account details.
  1. Open Profile.
  2. Select Username.
  3. Enter the new username you want to claim.
  4. Submit the form.
  5. Wait for the confirmation screen that shows the username you claimed.

Kinni shows your username as the avatar/profile identity. If you have just created an account and have not claimed a username yet, Kinni asks you to complete this step before showing the full profile.

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Select Email address.
  3. Check the redacted email address currently on your account.
  4. Select Change email.
  5. Kinni sends instructions to the current email address and signs you out of the app.
  6. Open the email link and enter the new email address plus your current password.
  7. Complete any verification emails sent to the old or new address.

The email-change web form requires your password to confirm that you own the account. After the email is changed, sign back in with the updated email address.

Use Account Switcher when more than one account is stored on the same phone or tablet and you need to make a different account active.

Use Profile → Subscription to check subscription status, premium feature information, plan options, renewal/end date, discounts, saved card summary, and the invoices link. Some account-management actions still open the Kinni Account website because they involve billing, email links, or account deletion.

Use Sign out if you only need to leave the current device or switch accounts. Use the delete your account link only if you want to permanently remove the Kinni account; deletion is separate from normal sign-out and cannot be undone.

  • Reconnect to the Internet if the profile says it is showing last known account data.
  • Close and reopen the Profile screen after changing email or username.
  • Confirm you signed in with the account you intended to update.
  • If an email-change link has expired or already been used, request a fresh email-change flow from the app.
