how to
Convert a session into a workout
Use Convert to Workout from Session Detail when a recorded run has a useful structure you want to save, edit, and run again from My workouts.
Convert a completed session into a workout when the run structure is worth repeating. Kinni creates a custom workout from the session, then saves it into My workouts so you can rename, edit, run, or share it later.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”Use Convert to Workout when a completed run captured a structure you want to reuse, such as intervals, progression, or a treadmill session that worked well in practice.
This is different from sharing a session. Sharing creates an image or sends data out of Kinni; converting creates a reusable workout inside Kinni.
- Open Sessions.
- Open the completed session.
- Open the session actions menu.
- Choose Convert to Workout.
- Enter or confirm the workout name.
- Tap Create workout.
Kinni shows a success message when the session has been saved as a custom workout.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The new workout appears in My workouts. From there you can edit it, tag it, run it again, or share it to the Workout Library if it is useful for others.
If the session was recorded elsewhere
Section titled “If the session was recorded elsewhere”Sessions recorded outside Kinni, such as from a watch or health platform, may not contain the detailed treadmill records Kinni needs to rebuild a useful workout. If Convert to Workout is not shown, or if conversion fails, use the session totals as a reference and create a workout manually instead.
If the session came from Apple Health or Health Connect, check Read session details and splits first. The Source field helps explain why some records, splits, or conversion options may be limited.
If conversion fails
Section titled “If conversion fails”- Check that the session has useful detail, not only headline totals.
- Try again from the completed session after reopening Kinni.
- If the run was imported from another source, recreate the workout manually from My workouts.
