FitCast Battery Saver mode

Use this reference when FitCast does not start automatically or you want to reduce Bluetooth broadcasting outside runs.

FitCast Battery Saver controls whether Kinni keeps FitCast available automatically or only broadcasts when you intentionally use it during a run.

Use it when you want to reduce unnecessary Bluetooth advertising and battery use, or when a virtual app is seeing Kinni FitCast at times you do not expect.

In Kinni, the setting is labelled FitCast battery saver and describes the behaviour as disabling FitCast when you are not running.

When Battery Saver is active, expect to turn FitCast on from the run screen when you actually need a virtual app to pair. When it is not active, FitCast can be available more automatically from the run flow if your account has access.

Leave Battery Saver on if:

  • you only use FitCast occasionally;
  • you want Kinni to avoid broadcasting outside the active run context;
  • your phone is battery constrained;
  • another app keeps trying to pair with FitCast when you are not running.

Turn Battery Saver off if you regularly use a two-device virtual-app setup and want fewer manual steps before pairing the second app.

After changing the setting, return to the run screen and check the FitCast button state before scanning from the other device.

  1. Start or open the active Kinni run screen.
  2. Make sure FitCast is turned on.
  3. Keep the second app on a separate device and scan again.
  4. If Battery Saver is on, toggle FitCast off and on from the run screen.
  5. If the app still cannot see FitCast, restart Bluetooth on the receiving device and scan for Kinni FitCast again.
